PRCHEM 2005

Recently, from August 9-12, 2005 was celebrated the 64^th Chemistry Convention from the “Colegio de Quimicos” of Puerto Rico.  This event was held at Westin Rio Mar Resort in Rio Grande.  During the convention, MCC participated actively in the offering of Continuing Education courses.  MCC dictated 5 different courses directly related with the spectroscopic techniques available in the center, as well as other important techniques. The courses included: Analysis of Volatiles or OVI, Surface Microscopy and Spectroscopy Techniques, Mass Spectrometry, Physical Characterization of Solids by X-ray Diffraction and an Introduction to Nuclear Magnetic Resonance. During the convention the MCC personnel was available at the booth to describe the different services provided by the center, in addition to other questions. Additionally, as part of the activity a DVD player and four gift certificates were give away between the persons that visited MCC booth.
